Basic Concepts of Information Systems

At the current industry and business requires the right information, fast and relevant. To obtain the desired information would have to use information systems. Information systems within an organization can be regarded as a system that provides information to all levels within the organization whenever necessary. These systems store, retrieve, change, process and communicate information received by using information system or other system equipment.According to Mc leod
"Information System is a system that has the ability to gather information from all sources and uses various media to display information"
Information systems can be defined as a system within an organization that is a combination of people, facilities, technology, media and control procedures intended to get important communication channels, processing certain types of routine transactions, giving a signal to management and others of internal events and external that are important and provide an information base for decision making
The information in an environmental information system should have the following general requirements:
Must be known to the recipient as an appropriate reference
Must be in accordance with the needs that exist in the process of making / decision making
Must be have the value of surprise, that it is already known should not be given
Must be to guide the user to make a decision. A decision is not always demanding action.
The information system should have several properties such as:
· Effective information processing. This is related to the test on incoming data, use of hardware and software suitable
· Management information effectively. In other words, operations management, security and integrity of existing data must be considered
· Flexibility. The information system should be flexible enough to handle a range of operations
· User satisfaction. The most important thing is knowing and satisfied user of information systems.
Component Information System

The information system has six components or also called the building blocks (building blocks), namely:

· Block Model (Model Block)
The combination of procedures, logic, and model matemetik which will manipulate input data and the data stored in the database in a manner that is determined to produce the diingiinkan.
· Block Output (Output Block)
Exodus which is a quality information and documentation that is useful to all levels of management and all system users.
· Block Technology (Technology Block)
Technology is a tool box (tool box) in informasi.Teknologi systems used to receive input, run the model, store and access data, generate and transmit output and help control the overall system.
· Block Database (Database Block)
Is a collection of data related to each other, are stored in the computer hardware and software used to manipulate it.
· Block Control (Control block)
Some controls are designed specifically to overcome the disturbances of the system.
